Greenwich, NY-Sara J. Morrison, 98, of Greenwich, passed away peacefully Monday morning, January 4, 2010 at her North Road residence. Born October 24, 1911 in Easton, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Belle (Rafter) Bain. Mrs. Morrison was educated in Center falls and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Home Bureau and also the Rebekkah Lodge for many years. Mrs. Morrison loved birds, especially feeding them and card playing. She especially loved being with her grandchildren. At one time, Mrs. Morrison was a dispatcher for the Cossayuna Volunteer Fire Dept.

She is survived by her children, Glen Morrison and his wife Linda of Argyle, Gladys Sheldon and her husband Rea of Greenwich, Joan Andrews and her husband Jon of Greenwich and Sandra Rozell and her husband Kenneth of Gansevoort, NY. She is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Donna Morrison of Greenwich and a son-in-law, Nathan Deyoe of Argyle; two brothers, Orla Harry Bain of Greenwich and Philip Bain of Middle Falls. Mrs. Morrison is also survived by twenty four grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also pre-deceased by her husband, William J. Morrison, Sr. who passed away February 24, 1995; her three children, Donald Bain who passed away in 1936, William "Jim" Morrison, Jr. who passed away in 2006 and Eileen Deyoe who passed away in 2009; her siblings, Pauline Bain, Clifford Dennis Bain, Millard Frank Bain, Stanley Loren Bain, Chauncey Lester Bain, Wesley Earl Bain, Avery Almon Bain, Fred Charles Bain, Frank Harley Bain, Willard Allan Bain and Arthur Henry Bain.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 7, 2009 at the McClellan-Gariepy Funeral Home, 19 East Broadway, Salem with Rev. Debbie Earthrowl officiating. A calling hour will be held on Thursday from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm prior to the service. Interment will take place in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery in Salem.

Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Morrison may be made to the Cossayuna Vol. Fire Dept, P.O. Box 321, Cossayuna, NY 12823.

Aunt Sara was an amazing woman. She was a true matriarch who will be missed by all those she has left behind. But, she will be welcomed with open arms by all the truely wonderful family members and friends who went before her.

One of my fondiest, was when I would go to visit with my Dad, Aunt Sara, knew I liked her garden tomatoes and onions ,she would give me a paper to sit on acolth to wipe them off and asalt shaker, then let me go and eat them from the vine. I will always remember her as a dear sweet lady.
