Thoughts from Linda Marlo

Bert could be cantankerous to say the least, but she also was as honest as the day is long and if she liked you she was the most giving person I have ever meant. She kept me on the straight and narrow with my dogs and picking up their doggy droppings. I'll miss looking up at the window and seeing the white hanky waving back. I'll also miss spagati pies, fresh trout, and the cookies. I'll miss our talks, our laughs, and watching that bright yellow ford driving through town. The last time I saw that was a few months ago when she was driving at a quick pace to beat the red lights {how we both hated the 8 lights we now have at our intersection}. I told Freda, a very good friend to Bert, about my siting and she reported back to me that Bert went down to Cambrige to get a beer at the IGA only to find out that they did not sell beer any more!!!! Why she didn't go to one of our stores who knows. She was a one of a kind and I will miss this lady.
